Plan Your Day Trip to Boston, MA

With accommodations in the “Birthplace of American Liberty” here at the Inn at Hastings Park, you’re only a hop, skip, and a jump from the heart of Boston, making this beautiful and history-steeped city a no-brainer choice when it comes to daytripping during your stay with us!

The sights and pleasures of Boston are too many to do justice to in one single blogpost, but below you’ll find some ideas for experiencing this fabled City on a Hill while relishing our signature boutique hospitality in nearby Lexington.

Admire the Iconic Cobblestone Streets

Head for the much-photographed Beacon Hill neighborhood to see some of the vintage cobblestone streets (not to mention some handsome Federal-style architecture) help symbolize Boston. The best-known cobblestone thoroughfare is surely Acorn Street, sometimes reckoned the most photographed street in the country.

Visit the New England Aquarium

Among the standout attractions in Boston is the New England Aquarium, which offers a globe-spanning tour of our watery world from an appropriate perch at Central Wharf. Its tanks and pools house a remarkable assortment of organisms, including corals, harbor seals, rays, eels, sharks, sea turtles, and penguins (with quite a slew of terrestrial critters rounding out the cast of characters).

And one of the real must-do experiences in Boston is hopping aboard for one of the New England Aquarium Whale Watch cruises, which head for the productive (and leviathan-plied) Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary less than 30 miles offshore.

Dig Into History at Historic Sites Along the Freedom & Black Heritage Trails & at the John F. Kennedy National Presidential Library & Museum

Boston’s many momentous historical sites make a nice complement to Lexington’s Minute Man National Historical Park (so easily explored from our Inn). From Boston Common, the Paul Revere House, the Bunker Hill Monument, and the site of the Boston Massacre to the African Meeting House and Phillips School in Beacon Hill, the Boston National Historical Park and Boston African American National Historic Site provide fascinating insights into the history not only of this city, but the U.S. as a whole—with the Freedom Trail and Black Heritage Trail threading between poignant landmarks.

Another illuminating destination for any and all history buffs is the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum, the permanent exhibits of which range from a replica of the HMS Resolute desk that stood in Kennedy’s Oval Office to his sailboat Victura.

Enjoy Boston, MA on an Inn at Hastings Park Getaway

From the Boston Children’s Museum (among the oldest of its kind in the country) and the Museum of Fine Arts (one of the world’s biggest art museums) to amphibious sightseeing via the delightful Boston Duck Tours—not to mention tapping into the world-famous sports culture this town has to offer—there’s an awful lot more to see and do in Boston.

Our luxury boutique Lexington, MA inn, less than 15 miles from the Massachusetts capital, makes an ideal launchpad for Boston sightseeing: Book your stay with us today!
